Savin Engineers conducted field investigations for the study phase of this project. Savin completed walk-through television inspection of 120,000 linear feet of storm sewer, as well as conducted wet-weather sampling and flow monitoring.
Savin was responsible for mobilizing personnel and equipment (seven days per week) to collect samples from ten overflow points during five storm events. Savin field crews used mobile phones to coordinate mobilization and the start
and finish of the sampling events. Automatic samplers were used to ensure efficient collection of samples in accordance with the Engineer’s protocol.
Savin conducted flow monitoring and rain gauging at up to 40 sites to evaluate flow rates in the combined sewers. Meters upstream of CSO regulators were used to develop and calibrate a computer model for both dry and wet weather flows. Meters downstream of the regulators were used to quantify the overflow events.
