Savin Engineers, as a subconsultant, provided construction inspection services for the replacement of the Bronx River Parkway Bridges, at Crane Road over the Bronx River and Metro-North Railroad in the towns of Scarsdale and Greenburgh. This historic project included:
• Replacing the Mushroom Bridge superstructure and substructure with a substantially wider deck
• Replacing the MNR Bridge with a redundant type structure (composite prestressed concrete box beam bridge)
• Replicating the existing Mushroom Bridge piers to maintain the form of the historic pier configuration while relocating them along a similar alignment
• Completing the projects construction within an approximately $40 million budget and three-year schedule.
